The Turkish Historical Society, established in 1931 under the directives of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, has been carrying out its work in line with scientific principles for more than 90 years. In this context, our Society researches Turkish history and the history of Türkiye within the framework of contemporary social science and supports activities in this direction. The Turkish History Congresses, held every four years, represent a scientific tradition among the activities of our Society.
The inaugural Turkish History Congress, where current research on Turkish history and history of Türkiye were presented, was held in 1932. The 2nd Congress, held in September 20-25, 1937, in Dolmabahçe, acquired an international dimension, as scholars from abroad also participated in this event.
